Robbie Williams
Robbie Williams is an English pop artist. His career started as a member of the band Take That in 1990, which he left in 1995 to begin his solo career. Robbie Williams is now one of the most popular male solo artists in the music world.
Robbie Williams has produced some of the biggest pop hits. His first single was a cover of George Michael's "Freedom '90." However, the single was a flop, but his second single, "Old Before I Die," was more successful. Williams released his first solo album, Life Thru a Lens, in 1997. The album became a big hit in Britain, and established him on the pop scene.
The Ego Has Landed, a U.S.-only compilation designed for introducing Williams to American audiences, was released in 1999. One of his biggest hits is the video hit, "Rock DJ," which was part of his 2000 album, Sing When You’re Winning. During 2002, Williams split from his longtime production partner and songwriter, Guy Chambers. Escapology, the fifth Robbie Williams album, sold millions of copies in Europe. The 2004 release Greatest Hits pulled together his big singles, while introducing his new musical partner Stephen Duffy with two new tracks. Intensive Care from 2005 was the first full-length from the team of Williams and Duffy.
Williams’ latest production is the dance/electro album "Rudebox". The first single "Rudebox” reached #4 in the UK Singles charts, and is popular in dance clubs around the world. Another song from this album, “Lovelight” was released recently and has been doing well on the charts.
