How To String An Ukulele ?

Ukulele strings are comparatively less problematic than the guitar strings and thus are quite easy to handle as well as restring. They do not corrode easily and nether do they produce dull sound often. They can be used for a longer time period without facing much difficulty. But once the strings start appearing damaged, ten they must be replaced. There may be problems with the tuning or any other sort f issue and this indicates that though after several months but it needs to be stringed.

Stringing a Ukulele is pretty easy task and involves the following steps:

  • First thing is to loosen the strings that are damaged or that needs to be changed. They are to be unwound and pulled out.
  • The string must be discarded as there might be a knot that would be holding it.
  • A new knot needs to be tied at the end of the new string. Threading it into given slot as well as over its bridge would complete this step.
  • The string is then thread in the hole that is there in tuning peg. Now it must be tightened. In case you own a headstock, you must tune these strings as well.
  • Now stretching the strings just by the way of pulling them in while you are tuning them completes this step as well.
  • Now at last what is required is the cutting of the ends of these strings with the help of either a wire cutter or a scissors. And finally the whole process of restringing is over.
